If you do not enter a display name, your first name will be used as your display name for all reviews and blog entries you submit, and your first AND last name will be viewable in the "People" section. Alternatively, once you've confirmed your registration, you may select, under the "People: edit profile" section, to set your profile to private, which would make only your display name (and location) viewable in the "People" section.

      By default, your profile, upon registration, is viewable in the "People" section. This includes your first and last name, location (city and state based on the zip code you provided on registration), and other information you may elect to provide when you edit your profile, including your occupation ("Trade"), company (or school), and other professional interests ("Other trades"). Thus, when browsing users by state in the "People" section of the website, or when clicking on your display name or image next to a review or blog entry you have posted, the user will be able to view the aforementioned personal information.

      As stated above, you have the option of making this information private (viewable by no one other than yourself) by visiting the "People" section, under the "edit profile" tab. Should you activate this option, your full name as seen on your profile page, and as seen in association with a posted review or blog entry, will instead be replaced with the display name you provided on registration (you may change this display name at any time under the "edit profile" tab). Under this private profile setting, your location will still be displayed. In addition, despite this private setting, others who may know you may still be able to associate your identity with your account and profile through your location or your primary photo. You have the option of deleting any and all of your uploaded photos at any time under the "edit photos" tab.

      We use your email address to contact you when someone sends you a personal message via the "connect" function in the "People" section. You may choose not to receive these email notifications by accessing the "account settings" tab in the "People" section and updating your notification settings. We may also use your email address to send you updates or news regarding this website. In all our email notifications, we may use your first or full name, regardless of your privacy setting.

      We also collect information in the form of the content that you submit in the course of your use of this website (your "Content"), such as photos, reviews, and ratings of local businesses and service providers, etc.

      If you are purchasing advertising space, we will request financial information. Any financial information we collect is used only to bill you for the services you purchased. If you purchase by credit card, this information may be forwarded to your credit card provider. For other types of registrations, we will ask for the relevant information. You may also be asked to disclose personal information to us so that we can provide assistance and information to you.

   You hereby acknowledge that FILAMCONNECT.COM is not responsible for any intercepted information sent via the Internet, and you hereby release us from any and all claims arising out of or related to the use of intercepted information in any unauthorized manner.

5. USE OF WEB BEACONS OR GIF FILES
   

   FILAMCONNECT.COM Web pages may contain electronic images known as Web beacons - sometimes also called single-pixel gifs - that allow FILAMCONNECT.COM to count users who have visited those pages and to deliver co-branded services.
